NANO-microsystem sensors for the detection of GAMMA rays
The major innovation will be to offer a selective and sensitive miniature sensor for detecting Gamma rays.
Most current detectors are large.
The major innovation is to offer a selective and sensitive miniature sensor.
At a later stage miniaturization will target “camera” type systems consisting of small active elements.
However, miniaturization currently involves unknown behavioural changes.
The use of nanocrystals or nanostructured thin films can improve the energy selectivity.
