Mediterranean coastal and maritime engineering on the agenda

The PACA Competitiveness Marine Cluster and the French Coastal Centre initiated the first Coastal and Maritime Mediterranean Conference that is scheduled to take place in Hammamet from 2 to 4 December 2009.

With the support of the Union for the Mediterranean, the  French Centre for Maritime and River Technical and River Studies (CETMEF) and the AIPCN French section, the first Coastal and Maritime Mediterranean Conference will bring together, in Hammamet for three days, all of the actors of coastal engineering of the Mediterranean basin.Two days of plenary work sessions and one day of visits to major local projects relating to coastal and maritime engineering have been proposed to participants in order to update their knowledge, enable an exchange of information and to make relevant contacts.Four key themes will be covered:

  • Maritime, coastal and portuary planning
  • Sustainable management of coastal sedimentary processes
  • Best environmental practices of coastal projects
  • The management of coastal risks in the Mediterranean

For the PACA Competitiveness Marine Cluster, this first conference opens the program of major thematic conferences to be organized every two years in a country located on the shores of the Mediterranean. Send your application to the cluster, as of now, to participate in this event.
