A cluster anchored in its territories

Since its creation in 2005, our ability to meet the challenges of maritime innovation has been based on our territorial anchoring with Toulon Var Technologies (TVT). First, the cluster mainly developed its action in the coastal areas of the Alpes-Maritimes, Var and Bouches-du-Rhône departments.

In 2014, the Pôle Mer Méditerranée cluster will be established in the new large Occitania Region in Montpellier. On each theme, these new territories bring a specificity complementary to those already integrated into the cluster. Since 2017, this presence has been strengthened and structured.

Two closely coordinated clusters, the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique and the Pôle Mer Méditerranée, cover both metropolitan maritime borders. The Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique does the same on their maritime frontage.

In its opening strategy, the Pôle Mer Méditerranée cluster engages in cooperation with the overseas (the Qualitropic cluster in Reunion Island and the Tahiti Fa'ahotu innovation cluster in French Polynesia) in collaboration with the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique cluster. 97% of the waters are under national jurisdiction over these territories. They contain the vast majority of France's marine biodiversity.

We are deploying ambitious projects in the Mediterranean Sea and internationally, in collaboration with our twin the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique:

  • We give our members access to European maritime programmes (link to the Helpdesk Europe page) through the construction of a network of experts. We can help you to join European consortium and obtain grants from various European Commission funding programs.
  • We provide advice, contacts, and a personalized path to help you gain international market share (link to the cluster's international support page).
